Overview:
- The GBC Proclick Pronto
P3000 is an all in one automated binding system that is designed to
both punch your pages and insert the GBC Proclick binding spine onto
your documents. - This system is ideal for an office that is
looking for an easy to use intuitive binding system that can produce
high quality professional looking documents and reports. - It
was designed specifically for small and medium sized organizations that
need professional looking documents that can easily be edited by end
users or company representatives. - This system is fast, easy
to use and creates contemporary and professional documents that are
sure to impress your customers and potential clients.
Strengths / Features:
- The
Proclick Pronto P3000 is an all in one binding solution that is
designed for use in a professional office environment. It was designed
to look very much like a large desktop laser printer. The design of
this machine helps to make sure that it doesn’t seem out of place in a
professional office space. However, the machine is not only classy but
it is also highly functional. It includes a binding punch at the bottom
of the machine and an inserting unit at the top of the machine to
finish your documents. - The P3000 is fast. In fact, once your
documents are punched, it only takes about six seconds to insert and
close the spine. That is faster than any other finishing unit on the
market. The punch on this unit is simple to operate and is controlled
by the touch of a button. It can handle between fifteen to twenty
sheets of 20lb paper at a time which is a fairly decent punching
capacity for an all in one binding unit. - Most large pieces of
GBC modular binding equipment only come with a 90 day warranty.
However, GBC has chosen to support this unit with a one year onsite
warranty. This means that if you have problems with your unit during
the first year that it is in service, GBC will come to your location
and fix your machine for you. Very few other manufacturers offer that
type of service. - The Pronto P3000 binds documents with the
GBC Proclick binding system. This innovative new binding system has
some real strengths. It can lay flat like comb binding, can wrap around
like wire binding and offers a contemporary look that no other binding
systems can match. Documents bound with this binding style can also be
edited by end users by simply unzipping the spine of the document using
a small zipper tool. This feature is ideal for sales organizations and
companies that need to have their representatives edit documents in the
field or on the go.
Weaknesses / Limitations:
- The
Proclick Pronto P3000 is only designed for use with letter sized
documents that are bound on the eleven inch edge. It cannot be used
with oversized covers, half sized sheets, legal sized paper or any
other document sizes. - The thicknesses of documents that can
be bound with this unit are also limited. There are currently only
three sizes of spines available for this machine. Small spines are
5/16″ in diameter and can handle about forty sheets of twenty pound
paper. Medium spines are 1/2″ and can handle about seventy sheets of
paper. Large spines are 5/8″ in diameter and can handle about one
hundred sheets of paper. These spines come loaded into special
cartridges that are inserted into the back of the machine.
Unfortunately these are the only sizes that will work with the P3000.
If these sizes don’t work for your organization then you will need to
choose a different binding style. - There are only four colors
of spines available for this system. You can choose from Black, Navy
Blue, White and Frost. Custom colors are not available and the last
word from GBC was that there are no other colors planned for this
system. - The binding punch on the P3000 is a medium duty punch
that works great for punching standard paper and cardstock. The punch
can even punch a clear cover if you punch it along with paper. However,
the punch does not handle poly covers very well. It is highly
recommended that you purchase prepunched Proclick pronto covers if you
want to use plastic covers with this system. Plastic covers have too
much flex for this punch and will ruin your punch if you attempt to
punch them. - This system does not come with the small zipper
tools that you use to open and close your documents. It does have a
spine opening tool on the left side of the machine. However, it is a
really good idea to order some extra zipper tools when you order the
supplies for your machine so that you have them on hand for editing
your documents. You can even give each of your employees their own
zipper tool so that they can open and edit documents on their own.
Recommendation:
- The
Proclick P3000 binding machine is a great machine for a small or medium
sized office that is looking for an easy to use and highly professional
binding system. - This machine looks a lot like a desktop laser printer and is designed to blend in with your other office equipment.
- However, it can create highly professional, contemporary looking reports, presentations and proposals in record time.
- Provided
you can live with the sizes , colors and punching limitations of this
machine it will be a great addition to your office.
