Home Made Pasta
June 20, 2008 | Leave a Comment
If you’ve got some time and are willing to put forth some effort, you can make your own home made pasta. The basic ingredients are:
- 3/4 cup unbleached white flour
- 1 egg
- pinch of salt
That’s it. Some folks use a little (1/2 teaspoon) extra virgin olive oil in their pasta, but it is optional. This recipe makes pasta enough for 2 regular servings, so if you want more increase the amounts in the same proportions.

Vegetarianism And Personal Health
June 20, 2008 | Leave a Comment
One of the beautiful things about living in the United States is the freedom that we are given to exercise our rights and choose the kind of lifestyle that we ultimately want to live. Fortunately, we also have that specific choice when it comes to our own personal health. While growing up, I found that an increasing number of my peers had converted to vegetarianism. A vegetarian is a person who does no participate in eating meat. Under very strict interpretations, this includes anything associated with an animal.

Did You Know Saturated Fats Are Actually Healthy?
April 28, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Did you know that saturated fats are not bad for you, in fact, they might even be good. Hearing this probably goes against 5 decades of programing you have been fed by the media. You’ve always heard that saturated fats are bad, but before you click away from this article. Let me show you why they aren’t bad, and why they are actually healthy.
Back in the 1950s, a scientist by the name of Ansell Keys published a paper about why Western society was developing heart disease at an explosive rate. First you must understand Ansell’s paper was a hypothesis, and it still is today. Heart disease being caused by saturated fat is not a fact, and as you’re about to find out, not a very good hypothesis either.

Hermit Crab Habitats
March 3, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Although hermit crabs may be purchased in tiny terrariums, they require a much larger habitat to live comfortably. A hermit crab will be fine in a 10-gallon or larger aquarium. Line the bottom of the tank with sand or stones, so your pet(s) have an easier time walking around.
Two shallows dishes of water are required - one filled with salt-water and one filled with dechlorinated fresh water. Additives can be purchased at pet stores to be added to water for each of these. Having sponges in each dish works well in helping hermit crabs obtain the water, and in adding humidity to the habitat. It’s a good idea to place the water dishes down into the substrate (gravel, sand, etc.), to prevent the crabs from knocking it over while they may attempt to dig under or climb over the dishes.

There are a number of ways in which high amounts of fiber benefit the human body; these benefits are listed as follows:
