Why my husband the toddler tamer is my hero

I have to admit it. As a mom, I hide in the bathroom to get a few quiet minutes away from my toddler and baby. But my husband has never hid in the bathroom or anywhere else for that matter. When it comes to parenting, he’s fully engaged and relentless.

Today there is a wide range of baby shoes available for you to select from. Basically, any type of adult shoe that you can imagine is now being made for babies too. These range from tiny little tennis shoes to sweet little sandals in any color under the sun. Of course, none of these are really necessary until a baby reaches the point where he is starting to learn how to crawl. Nevertheless, many of these shoes are just too cute for parents to be able to pass by in the stores without purchasing them. There is nothing wrong with this though since your baby needs to keep his feet warm in the cool weather months anyway.

You’re both work 40 hours or more a week. You spend time with your kids, fight the good fight against traffic everyday, and manage to handle all of those unexpected problems that crop up. By weeks end you’re tired. No, not just tired, you’re too numb to do anything but prepare yourself to do it all over again. Oh sure, you have a few leftover hours free here and there, but definitely not nearly enough time to devote to your personal relationship, let alone sex life, right?

Wrong!!!

I am the victim of a hovering parent. At times, it seems that almost nothing I do is right according to my mother. My decision-making is questioned in regards to my parenting skills, my relationships and even how I keep my home. She means well but she can be a bit overbearing at times. I used to get rather frustrated and resentful of her constant nitpicking but through continual personal development, I have learned how to deal with her. Our relationship has drastically improved since I have changed the way I respond to her. Since I know I am not alone, I thought I would share how I manage her helicopter parenting.
