With all kinds of health issues facing us today, many wonder if water quality has anything to do with it. Most people take their water quality for granted. The water looks clear, doesn’t smell too bad, and it hasn’t hurt anyone that you know of. Water qualities differ from state to state, depending on the sources available. Here are some tips that can help you understand your tap water and if filtration is necessary:

Currently most of these hybrid cars cost as much as some of the most expensive cars on the market. Until this technology is out of development and practical production methods are implemented these vehicles will continue to be out of reach for most normal people. Currently the batteries designed to be used in these hybrids are built to last less than a decade. Imagine mounds of caustic acid filled batteries that are going to have to be disposed of.

Although hermit crabs may be purchased in tiny terrariums, they require a much larger habitat to live comfortably. A hermit crab will be fine in a 10-gallon or larger aquarium. Line the bottom of the tank with sand or stones, so your pet(s) have an easier time walking around.

Two shallows dishes of water are required - one filled with salt-water and one filled with dechlorinated fresh water. Additives can be purchased at pet stores to be added to water for each of these. Having sponges in each dish works well in helping hermit crabs obtain the water, and in adding humidity to the habitat. It’s a good idea to place the water dishes down into the substrate (gravel, sand, etc.), to prevent the crabs from knocking it over while they may attempt to dig under or climb over the dishes.

Fishing unlike what so many people have come to believe, is an exciting sport. It’s a hobby which allows a person to enjoy a weekend with his family or with his buddy. Though fly fishing is sometimes perceived to be extremely boring because of how fly fishers look like in most of the pictures during actual fishing; this hobby/sport actually needs a lot of knowledge and perseverance before someone is able to fish for species from both salt and fresh water.

Corrosion:

The causes of corrosion vary but are almost always related to water chemistry.

  • pH - acidic or basic solutions are corrosive
  • TDS - high salt content results in higher ionic strength and leads to corrosion
  • Chloride - forms soluble iron chloride
  • Sulfate - food for bacteria that form corrosive hydrogen sulfide
  • Bacteria - can produce organic acids that lower pH

Corrosion Products:

A corrosion Product is a solid that appears as scale (clogs pipes) and is a result of corrosion somewhere in the system. Typical Corrosion Products are:
