Article Submission Strategy - Know Your Keywords, Rank Higher In Search Engines

Although it’s true that you should write for the your readers in mind, still there are tactics that you have to keep in mind to increase your chance of being ranked high in search engines.

No, I’m not talking about keyword stuffing — aggressively inserting keywords all over the place just to get attention of the search engines — or any other cheesy methods. Search engines frown upon that. If the content is in your site, you can get penalized. Article directories are less likely to accept your articles too.

What I mean is that you should know your keywords when writing and submitting your articles. Never presume that you know what the readers use to search for information related to your topic.

Fortunately, on the Internet, it is possible to do so and the tools are available for free. Free keyword suggestion tool from WordTracker, just one example, is free. Before writing article about roses, you want to know what people use to locate information in that niche.

For instance, if you don’t do your homework, you may think that “rose bush prevention” is the right word to use, but with a simple query sent to the tool, you should find out that the right keyword to use is “rose bush care maintenance.” Perhaps what you haven’t thought about, but the search users can’t be wrong.

When submitting articles, you have to include some of these keywords into the keyword field so the article directories know that they should return your article when the visitors search for that information.

Search engines now know about synonyms and similar words (stems), but still the chance of getting high ranking from the keyword will be much higher if you use the right keyword from the start.

That is a very simple strategy, it may sound obvious but if you look at what others have done, you should know that it may not as obvious as it should.
